Let Falcons fans look back at what seemed like another lousy season of Atlanta Falcons football.

Sure, the Falcons had their share of ups and downs throughout the season. It began with a preseason that immediately drew attention to a porous secondary.

Those concerns subsided when the Birds flew out the door with a 4-1 record that included last-minute heroics to beat the Chicago Bears. There was a lot of hope, excitement, and even unwarranted high expectations.

Then the Falcons’ fortunes seemed to take a turn for the worse. A Falcons team that prides itself on its defense was ripped apart two weeks in a row. The Dallas Cowboys, who until then had their own scoring problems, dominated the Dirty Birds 37-21. Clearly, there were big holes in the Falcons’ secondary, as well as a non-existent passing and kicking game. The Falcons’ vulnerable defense coupled with an inconsistent offense was evident as the Falcons lost four of the next five games.

Atlanta took another couple of hits when star running back Jamal Anderson hurt his ankle and quarterback Matt Ryan was sidelined with a turf toe.

Overall, it was a tumultuous year for the Atlanta Falcons, but I think this time is different. Looking at all aspects, the positives inextricably outweigh the negatives.

First of all, looking at the Falcons’ schedule, did anyone think they would actually end up with a winning record? Remember this is the Falcons franchise famous for not having back-to-back winning seasons. After making the playoffs last year, they had arguably the toughest schedule in the NFL this year.

Matt Ryan showed further improvement by finishing the season with a career-high 22 touchdown passes. Ryan also added another dimension to the Falcons with the no-huddle offense.

Jason Snelling emerged as a formidable backup running back as he rushed for 147 yards in the Falcons’ historic victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Young Falcons’ defense allowed 20 points or fewer nine times during this season’s football campaign. They finished strong keeping the Falcons in the game against the offensive juggernaut New Orleans Saints. The “D” Falcons only gave up a measly twenty points over their last three games.

Roddy White has proven that he is one of the elite receivers in the game, which makes us wonder why he wasn’t named an All-Pro? Meanwhile, Tony Gonzalez proclaimed that he still had more left in the tank and was a constant threat in the red zone.

Although it may have been a disappointing season because the Falcons missed the playoffs, there is a lot of potential. atlanta falcons [out] We are a young and cohesive team. Under General Manager Thomas Dimitroff, the Falcons never say they die won their last three games. Not only that, the Atlanta Falcons finished back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in their 44-year franchise history. That was the longest career in major league sports, the curse has been lifted.

So, Falcons fans, you really do have a lot to be excited about, it’s called the future!
