There are so many options that can be taken when looking for a home security system. The first, of course, is whether or not to get one. That my friends is the starting point: do I have a home security system or not? Once you get past that hurdle, things get really tough.

The number of options and alternatives can be truly overwhelming. Indoor, outdoor or both; wired or wireless; monitored or not monitored; how many monitoring stations; windows, doors or everything; smoke detector, radon, fire, the list seems almost endless.

It is not a subject to be taken lightly either. Did you know that more people have security systems for their cars than for their homes? Houses are just the biggest investment most people have. Last year the average was over $200,000 invested in the house, not to mention furniture, landscaping, etc. maybe another $100,000. So how does it not make sense to protect it? it doesn’t!!

So what do you do, get a watchdog? Hire a security guard? Getting an elaborate home security system? Or can you get by with something less? Like most other things in life, it all comes down to money. WHAT A SHOCK!

The fact is, no matter what your financial status is or the value of your home and furnishings, you must have some form of protection. People often turn to a local security company for help. God, what do you think they’ll tell you?

Another fact is that you can spend nothing or almost an unlimited amount on home security – there are so many options. It may surprise you that the best security doesn’t necessarily cost you a lot. On the contrary, the most elaborate system does not guarantee your security. So there has to be a middle ground.

If a thief has attacked your home and neighborhood, he will break in, it’s a given!

Your job is to find a way to slow it down or prevent them all together from reaching their goal. How you do it depends on how much you want to spend and how vulnerable your home is.
