Committed for Better Business

We lead busy and crazy lives, like most of our neighbors and friends. Each day seems to blend into the next, and before we have time to fully adjust to the work week, it’s Saturday again. One of the kitchen utensils that we use every day of the week is our Kitchen Island. Our kitchen island has a butcher block top, is mobile with four heavy-duty locking caster wheels, has drawers in the front with two shelves below, hooks on the sides, and drops on two of the four sides. Kitchen Islands butcher blocks with all these various features give us the ability to use them where and when we need them most.

On Saturday morning, our kitchen island becomes the focal point for morning coffee with my spouse, a place to plan family events and gather bills that need to be paid, as well as work on any other maintenance items. familiar. We flip up the sides of the foldout sheets and use the extra space to spread out our calendars, checkbooks, computers, and paperwork. While we drink our coffee we organize our life. Once everything is complete, we pack up the sides, clean up the kitchen, and get on with our day.

By Saturday afternoon, the kitchen island is usually put back into service as a food prep station. With friends or out-of-town guests over for a dinner party, we’ll gather our ingredients for a gourmet meal, open the cookbooks, and chop, slice, mix, and shred until the meal is done. All the necessary pots, pans, and cooking utensils store conveniently on the kitchen island’s shelves and in the drawers. Cleanup is always a breeze as we can unlock the wheels and roll the island near the sink and trash can to easily dispose of and clean up all of your meal prep scraps. When the food is ready to come out of the oven, the top of the butcher block is the perfect place to place it and allow it to cool before serving the food.

Sunday morning usually finds us back on the island, only this time we are enjoying our coffee with the Sunday paper or some other relaxing reading material. They spend several hours sitting, drinking and taking some quiet time to enjoy the weekend before the next event. On Sundays, we usually host a family dinner. Once again the island goes into service as a food preparation station. However, once food preparation for Sunday lunch is complete, the island is either queued up to act as a banquet-style serving table in the dining room or used as “the children’s table,” depending of the number of family members that can arrive. to dinner

In a two-day time frame, our kitchen island also leads to a busy and fulfilling life. From the planning station to the dining room table, butcher block kitchen islands are not only fine pieces of furniture that enhance a kitchen décor, but they are also versatile enough to meet the demands of our active lives.
