The Pokémon card game is one of the most popular card-based battle games today. But due to the high cost of the original commercial game card, some have turned to customizing and making their own Pokémon card online. Some even go as far as photocopying the cards and laminating them to minimize cost, experiencing at least the indirect thrill of owning the collectible cards.

However, what I will be discussing here are the tips for making a completely different type of “Pokémon Card”. Let’s face it, if you’re an avid gamer of the game, you will really find ways to collect for your own deck of original Pokémon game cards! However, if you are really interested in creating your own Pokémon game card, you should check out the following sites, which offer card customization tools, giving you the freedom to edit on your own:

Now back, what kind of Pokémon card am I talking about?

Instead of inadvertently copying someone else’s work, you can create your own Pokémon-themed card, which you can send to loved ones on special occasions. That way, you can also share your enthusiasm for Pokémon with other people, with your personal creative touch.

There are many pocket monsters even from the first installment of the pokemon anime series. As the story progresses, more are added to the already voluminous list of Pokemon. So before we start making our Pokémon card, it’s best to consider your favorite Pokémon. You would also need the following materials:

Oslo paper or cardboard (thick enough to fold)

colored papers or cardstock

colored pencils, crayons, paint, or any coloring material

accessory material of your choice (ribbons, buttons, etc.)

pair of scissors

glue

If you have chosen your pokemon, you can now start making the card:

1. First, we will create a card based on the pokeball. Get your paper or cardboard from Oslo and fold it in half. Then, draw the center design of the pokeball in the center of your card. Color the top red and the bottom white. Do the same on the back of your card. Remember, the front of a pokeball has a white center, so you should also distinguish the front from the back of your card.

2. After coloring the outside of the card (if you are using paint or watercolor, make sure it has dried properly), let’s now proceed to designing the inside of the card. First, get a black paper, draw your favorite pokemon, and then apply color. Then cut out your drawing and glue it to one side of your card. If you are not good at drawing, you can print a picture of your favorite Pokémon, cut it out, and then glue it to the side of your card.

3. If you think your card is too bare, you can add accessory materials such as ribbons, buttons, or you can also paint the inside of the card.

4. Write your message on the blank side of the card, and you’re done!

This is just one example of a simple Pokémon card. You can make your card in different shapes (a circle maybe? Or a Magnemite-shaped card?) Using different pokemons. Get creative when creating your own Pokémon card, and most importantly, enjoy doing it. Remember, it is your creation crafted for your favorite people.
