Committed for Better Business

If your sports team is heading to a big tournament, you’ve certainly had the challenge of knowing where to stay. Maybe you’ve followed the hotel / motel route before. And one thing you’ve learned is that it’s not the cheapest way to do it. Rates are sky-high and reservations are nearly impossible with groups of tweens or teens. The same goes for meals – feeding a team of teenagers in a hotel can quickly eat up your travel budget. It’s rare to find a hotel that has an outdoor kitchen or barbecue, where you can prepare cheap home-cooked meals. And after a tough day of competition, you really don’t want to share a relaxing spa or pool with strangers. It’s no wonder so many youth sports teams are choosing to stay in a vacation home.

Close to youth sports facilities

Vacation homes are often as conveniently located in today’s hottest sports venues as hotels and motels. Many are also just minutes from popular resorts like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, the Anaheim Convention Center, water parks, fabulous Orange County beaches, and other attractions. Most of the houses are close to public transportation or vans and transportation services operated by sports facilities and vacation destinations.

The look and feel of a home

Vacation homes feel like a real home, not an impersonal hotel or motel. Youth sports teams and groups have found that these homes can be more comfortable for tweens and teens. Where else can you stay that offers kids rooms / bunk beds, two or more bunk beds, and double trundles? These “team” accommodations allow many children to share the same room. Some houses even have four bedrooms, which can sleep up to 16 children / teenagers. Several of these houses have a sofa bed located in the family room for two more children to sleep.

It is never a dull moment for children, teenagers and companions

The vacation homes are fully equipped to keep children, teenagers and companions entertained. After a hard day of sports competition, everyone needs a break. That’s why these homes have smart TVs, fun-filled gaming systems like X-Box, DVD players, Netflix, foosball, and plenty of Wi-Fi access for smartphones, laptops, and tablets. These connectivity options offer the perfect combination of information and entertainment for everyone.

Barbecues, Pools and Spas

Kids, teens, and especially chaperones should take a break from the rigors of competition. Vacation homes allow sports teams to do just that, in a way that cannot be done in a hotel or motel. They let you cook hot dogs, burgers, and other fun cookouts outside on a barbecue in a private backyard. Forget waiting for strangers to finish (or clean) your barbecue. Or having to share an outdoor area with strange hotel / motel guests. Vacation homes almost always have a spacious outdoor dining area equipped with tables, chairs, and plenty of comfortable seating. Many homes also have private, enclosed in-ground pools and a spa or Jacuzzi for the exclusive use of your equipment.

Healthy and inexpensive meals

Hotels and motels often offer limited food menus that can be quite expensive when feeding a group of tweens or teens. Vacation homes, on the other hand, allow you to prepare healthy meals that are tailored to the taste and health preferences of your team. Homes feature fully equipped kitchens that include stainless steel appliances (microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and double oven), granite countertops, and spacious breakfast bars. Each kitchen is also fully stocked with bakeware, pots, pans, plates, cookware, silverware, even kitchen and paper towels.

Affordable cleaning services

Youth teams can be tough on uniforms and other clothing during a competition. Hotel and motel laundry services are often prohibitively expensive for sports and youth groups. The vacation homes include a washer and dryer to clean clothes quickly and economically. Cleaning sports equipment is not an easy task, but thanks to the cleaning services available, companions can take a break after a day of sports competition.
