The practice of breath work is an integral part of all yoga traditions. It is a powerful tool to balance and harmonise your physical, mental and emotional states as you expand your spiritual awareness and connect with the subtle energy of prana. This month-long online course will help you deepen your understanding of the philosophy and mechanics of breath work techniques. Upon completion, you will feel confident in incorporating breath work therapeutics into your classes or private sessions.

In this Pranayama Teacher Training Online: Breath of Life, you will be introduced to the full spectrum of pranayama practices including kapalabhati, anuloma viloma, surya bhedana, uddigasana, bhastika, savitri & more. You will explore the root causes, benefits and contraindications of each technique. You will learn how to safely implement these breathwork techniques in a class environment and understand how to guide students towards a deeper level of meditation.

Learn from world renowned Ayurvedic physician and yogi, Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, in this immersive online course. You will dive deep into the 8 core pranayama (breath work) practices to improve your health, wellbeing and increase oxygen intake and lung capacity. You will also explore the power of breath to navigate emotions, reduce stress and cultivate mindfulness.

Virtual Pranayama Teacher Training – Breath of Life

Each session will include a theory and practical classes, with the opportunity to ask questions during the live sessions. The teachings will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live sessions and the recordings will be available for download to your device. You will have lifetime access to the course material and be able to work at your own pace but we recommend that you try to complete your certification within one year of the course start date.

If you have already completed a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and would like to take this course as your next step into advanced breathwork, we can offer you 50 hours of Continuing Education Credit with Yoga Alliance. This means you can use this course to qualify for your 200 hour YACEP certificate. This can be added to your existing YACEP credits or counted as the additional 50 hours needed for your 200 hour training to become a certified yoga teacher. The YACEP credits can be used for RYT200 or RYT300. Please note that this course is not suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pregnancy and breast feeding can have a negative effect on the body’s ability to process oxygen and will require careful attention to avoid complications. We advise that you consult your doctor before commencing any form of exercise during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
