I have been reaching out to strangers for about nine years with messages using the three gifts of prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and prophecy. In all these nine years, I have come up with 5 tips that will overcome your fear of practicing prophetic evangelism.
Tip 1 – Pray first.
The first thing I do is I ask the Lord Jesus to go before me on the day and guide me to the people He wants me to talk to. These are not always the people He wants you to speak to prophetically. I have many ways of witnessing and have had many years of doing so. I have written hundreds of articles and my articles are pretty good at testifying on their own.
My prayers to meet the right people lead to the right people sitting next to me on a train that I can witness to.
It helps me to know that the people God wants me to approach in a mall are the right people.
Tip 2 – Let the Lord show you who to talk to.
It is always a good fear buster to meet the person that the Lord Jesus is showing you by making their skin glow a little more than other people’s skin. It’s always nice to see the people God wants you to talk to standing out from the rest of the crowd.
It doesn’t take long to gain this gift of being able to identify the people the Lord wants you to talk to. When he has prayed for the Lord to open up opportunities, he can be sure that when a person stands out, he is a person God wants him to talk to.
Tip 3 – Say a quick prayer to get over your nerves.
Even today, after having spoken thousands of prophetic words with strangers, fear can still arise in my heart and I find it very helpful to say a quick prayer and lay my hands on my heart and ask for the peace of the Lord Jesus. It is not good to approach a person hyperventilating.
Tip 4 – Ask the Lord what the message is
A very good way to calm your nerves is to listen to what the Lord is going to say to the person he wants you to get close to.
Once the Lord wanted me to approach a very attractive girl with the prophetic gifts. It can happen anywhere at any time. This time, the young lady was so dazzling that I was embarrassed to approach her when the Lord Jesus told me. The Lord Jesus asked me if the lady was easy to see, I would approach her but since she was so pretty I would not. I answered yes, it was.
She then asked if she could share with me the message she had for the young woman.
“Yeah, okay,” I told him.
He said, “Tell her that she has been praying for years for something she wants very much, yet that is not what is best for her. She thinks if she can bother me enough, as I said for people to do in the parable, then I would answer her question.” “I pray. Tell her I don’t want what she wants in her life, and if she lets go of that request, I’ll give her something much better soon.”
I went and told the girl and she was happy that I told her.
Tip 5: Know that you only have to do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do
Some people think that every effort in prophetic evangelism has to end with a conversion. This can happen more if you have a position in a place where people approach you. There is too much pressure if a person thinks that he has to lead everyone who comes near him to give his life to Jesus.
You just have to do what the Holy Spirit wants you to do. Most of my life I have been planting seeds in people’s lives. People are really surprised that I know so much about their life and they are very happy when I bring them a message of comfort.
You too will be much less afraid when you know that you only have to do what the Holy Spirit wants you to do in each case.
I don’t know if you’ve ever stopped at a Christian ministry to listen to some great songs and an overzealous person tried to convert you. They ask if you are a Christian, and when you say yes, they proceed to try to convert you or insult people by asking if they speak in tongues.
This is exactly what you sound like when you are trying to convert a person when the Holy Spirit is not leading them. It is better to leave a wonderful flavor in a person’s life with a wonderful prophetic word than to try to do more than what God wants you to do.

Father:
Guide these people with your Spirit. In the name of your Son Jesus Christ, anoint these people with a new anointing. Lead these people to someone who can teach them more about the three prophetic gifts and who can teach them how to do prophetic evangelism. Guide them by your Holy Spirit.
Father, let your Holy Spirit be strengthened in this reader and if they cannot get someone to teach them the prophetic gifts, give them the gifts Father right now and use your Holy Spirit to teach them how to walk in them and be effective. Father, make them as productive as I am and let them enjoy doing it as much as I do.
Lord, guide your people to You and more of You. Lead them to prayer and praise as they seek Your face and are filled with Your desire to reach people in the world. Lord, let all these people reading this not only have the manifest gifts, but become stars in the prophetic.
