Absolutely yes, even if you are an IT professional. Consider the following scenario. One of my friends, we’ll call him Mike, was having trouble updating a graphics package and asked me for help. He wanted to download the video feed from his video camera to his laptop for editing. Immediately after his computer detected the video camera, we tried to download the video from the camera. Almost immediately, the graphics package displayed a Windows error asking me to reboot. As was my practice at the time, I accessed Regedit32 to find the source of the error and found several partial installs of a driver, followed by a system update.

Normally I would just work through Regedit32 and manually delete those orphaned files, but not this time. I recently participated in a registry cleaning review panel to evaluate the registry cleaning software programs available on the market today and I am convinced. I would recommend that you break the habit and invest in a good quality registry cleaner to save you time and reduce human error on an already buggy system.

Based on my experience and research, a good quality registry cleaner is the ideal replacement for manual editing of Regedit32.
