If your house is anything like mine, you have dress clothes scattered throughout the house, from the kids’ bedrooms, to the playroom, to dress shoes in the kitchen to trip over every time you turn around. With 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy who have vivid imaginations and love to pretend, on any given day I have a Sleeping Beauty dress on my bed, a princess wand on the bathroom floor, costumes strewn all over the hallway. and a pirate cape. in my baby’s crib (because she doesn’t let go when she naps, because she loves the softness of the velvet and Chinese silk lining against her face). There is a great need in our house to store toys and a place to put the costumes.

First of all, my kids are terrible at hanging things. They don’t yet have the knack for putting a dress on a hanger and making it stay. So hanging it in a closet isn’t really an option for my kids to store their costumes for themselves. A good alternative is hooks. You can get the adhesive type that you just stick on the wall or you can get decorative hooks that you screw on. Your kids can easily hang their princess or pirate clothes on the hooks to keep the floor neat and tidy and also make the costumes last longer. This concept also teaches them to respect their special things and helps them clean up after themselves.

Another idea would be to buy a toy box or costume trunk just for your costume clothes. They can just put their stuff in there when they’re done playing with them and voila! Floor clothes. Toy boxes or costume trunks are great because they’re inexpensive, an easy way for your child to clean themselves, and you can put them anywhere and they look beautiful. The only downside to dress chests, though, is that if they’re deep, you can’t reach the bottom stuff, so you have to throw everything out or you can’t play with the bottom stuff. as much as the things in the background.

A plastic storage box under the bed seems to work well for costumes. They can take out their box when they’re ready to play dress-up and put it back in when they’re done. This method works great when toys are kept exclusively in the child’s bedroom.

We have large built in storage drawers in our basement game room to fit the toys. It works very well. Kids can fold and put their dress clothes in the big drawer when they’re cleaning up. It is simple and easy for them to do. They also put her princess accessories in there, as well as her previous Halloween capes and costumes in the drawers. Over the years we have had to expand to several drawers for their costumes as dress up clothes seem to be a timeless and timeless gift that they always ask for and play with on a daily basis.

Organizing your clothing can be fun and rewarding. Spending a few minutes in the short term will make a world of difference in the long term!
