However, if you are interested in outdoor activities, you can easily leave your Devon holiday rentals and hit the golf course, the beach, the bike trails, parks and gardens. There are many places you can go that are close to the vacation homes. Here are some places you can go and things you can do on your Devon holiday so you can have one you really enjoy.

churchston cove

If you have brought your pet along on your Devon holiday, this is one beach where you can bring your dog. Churchston Cove is a pebble and sand beach and is known for being a great place where you can go swimming or picnic on a yacht. The disadvantage is that people with physical disabilities do not have access to the beach and there are no other facilities available on the beach, such as restaurants. If you really want to try this beach, it is best to prepare your picnic basket before leaving your rural houses, since this beach is located a few minutes from the rural houses anyway.

Devon’s Little Switzerland

When you are on holiday in Devon, you should not forget your physical exercise routine. Why not combine a little sightseeing with your exercise? There is a popular place to walk called “Little Switzerland”. It is a 5 mile circular walk between Lynmouth and Watersmeet which has such a picturesque view you will really enjoy it. It got its name from the untouched beauty, bliss and tranquility of the place. Many early visitors to the site, including the legendary poet Shelley, gave it the name “Little Switzerland.” Follow this path past the River Lyn and see the incredible beauty that will make you forget the many miles you have walked. You will have the opportunity to see the untouched countryside, including the streams and valleys. If you want to grab some snacks or a hot cup of coffee, stop by the Watersmeet Cafe on the way. It’s easy to catch a bus from your Devon holiday cottages and go on this walking trail. This is one activity you should include in your Devon holiday to get the best views of the countryside but at the same time give yourself the opportunity to exercise and stay healthy even while on holiday.
